Due to European law Rum is a spirit made of sugar cane, distiiled under 96% ABV, with the organic characteristics of RUM.
Rum can be distilled from molasses, sugar cane or sugar cane syrup. In general bottled Rums are blends. This means that a diversity of Rums is used to get a consistent quality and a product with the exclusive identity of the particular brand. Rum can be drunk straight as well used as a perfect ingredient for a cocktail, of which the Cuba Libre is the best known. Rum is a perfect cooking assistant as well.
Some sugar cane products are marketed under other names such as Cachacha from Brasil or Arak from Indonesia.
