Due to European law Rum is a spirit made of sugar cane, distiiled under 96% ABV, with the organic characteristics of RUM.
Rums are distilled either in Pot Stills or Column Stills. In the Pot Still the aromatic and classic rums are made, in the Column Still the lighter type of rums.

Rum can be distilled from molasses, sugar cane or sugar cane syrup. In general bottled Rums are blends. This means that a diversity of Rums is used to get a consistent quality and a product with the exclusive identity of the particular brand.

Rum can be drunk straight as well used as a perfect ingredient for a cocktail, of which the Cuba Libre is the best known. Rum is a perfect cooking assistant as well.

Rum can be made all over the world but the Caribbean’s are  known as the perfect area for there variety. Every country there has its own way of fermenting and distilling, resulting in the wide variety of Rums on the market.

Some sugar cane products are marketed under other names such as Cachacha from Brasil or Arak from Indonesia.
